Who it suits

The best candidates have a distinct pocket of fullness under the chin with reasonable skin quality, and they are close to a stable weight. If the fullness is mostly loose skin rather than fat, Kybella is the wrong tool and I will tell you so — resurfacing or a surgical referral will serve you better.

The treatment itself

I numb the area, mark a grid, and place a series of small injections. The whole appointment runs twenty to thirty minutes. There is a warm, stinging sensation for a few minutes afterward that settles quickly.

What recovery looks like

Swelling is expected and is part of how the treatment works — the area can look fuller before it looks slimmer, with the most noticeable swelling in the first three to five days. Most people schedule around a quiet weekend. Tenderness and firmness under the chin can linger for a couple of weeks.

Sessions and results

Most clients need two to four sessions spaced at least six weeks apart, and results build progressively as the destroyed fat clears. Because the fat cells are gone rather than shrunk, the improvement holds as long as your weight stays stable.

Common questions

Is it permanent?

The treated fat cells are destroyed and do not return. Significant weight gain can still change the area.

How many treatments will I need?

Usually two to four, depending on how much fullness there is. We reassess before each round rather than pre-selling a package.

Does it tighten skin too?

Some clients see modest tightening as the area contracts, but Kybella is a fat treatment. If skin laxity is the main issue we will plan differently.

Can I work the next day?

Most people can, but the swelling is visible. If you have something important on the calendar, allow two weeks.
