Botox, Xeomin, or Daxxify — how I choose

Botox is the most studied and the most predictable, and it is where most people start. Xeomin is a 'naked' toxin with no carrier proteins, which some clients prefer if they feel they have stopped responding well over the years. Daxxify tends to last longer for the right candidate, which suits people who would rather come in twice a year than four times. We talk through all three at your consult and pick based on your goals, not on what I have in stock.

How I approach dosing

I start on the conservative side and invite you back two weeks later at no charge to assess. It is far easier to add a few units than to wait out an overdone brow. Over your first year I learn exactly how your muscles respond and we settle into a dose that holds reliably.

What your appointment looks like

I study your face at rest and in motion, mark injection points, and explain where each unit is going and why. The injections take a few minutes with very fine needles — most clients describe brief pinches, and I can use ice or topical numbing if you prefer. You leave and go straight back to your day.

Aftercare at altitude

Stay upright for four hours, skip strenuous exercise and hot yoga for the rest of the day, and avoid rubbing the treated areas. Colorado's dry, high-altitude air makes hydration and daily SPF matter more than most people expect — smoothing looks better on well-supported skin, so we will talk through a simple home routine.

Common questions

Will I look frozen?

Not with the dosing I use. I treat to soften, not to erase movement, and I would rather you come back for a small top-up than overcorrect.

What is the difference between Botox and Daxxify?

Both relax muscle. Daxxify uses a peptide instead of albumin and often lasts longer for suitable candidates, while Botox is the most predictable across the widest range of faces. Xeomin sits between them and is a good option if you feel your response to Botox has faded.

Is there any downtime?

None. You may have small raised bumps for fifteen minutes and occasionally a pinpoint bruise, which conceals easily with makeup after 24 hours.

How young is too young to start?

There is no magic age. Preventive treatment can make sense once lines begin to linger at rest. If you are not there yet, I will tell you and suggest skincare instead.
